The meeting had participations of sponsor’s representative: Mr. Joel Nininger – Manager of Asia and Central Asia – ICRC MoveAbility; partner’s representatives: Ms. Luu Thi Anh Loan – DRD’s Acting Director, Mr. Huynh Van Phi – Vice Director of HCMC Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Center, Mr. Mai Van Trinh – Manager of Orthopaedic House, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Tam – Deputy Director of HCMC Red Cross Committee.In addition, the presence of representatives from PWDs Associations, PWDs Clubs were indispensable.

At the meeting, Mr. Joel Nininger gave a opening speech and introduced the programme. Besides, Ms. Luu Thi Anh Loan also shared about the situation of implementing cooperation with DPOs and gave recommendations to improve service. The meeting was followed by presentations of Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Tam and Mr. Huynh Van Phi about advantages/disadvantages in the implementing process. At the end of the meeting is the exchange, sharing of the parties, opinions of PWDs on the equipment and its drawback. In addition, there’re suggestions of application development for registration, invitation and tracking of beneficiaries more effectively and planning for 2018 as well.
Looking back to 2017, DRD has collaborated with PWDs Associations in Duc Loc and Duc Trong - Lam Dong Province; Solidarity Club in Bien Hoa - Dong Nai; Center for Social Work of Binh Phuoc Province; PWDs group in Binh Phuoc Province, and had reached the target of 100 PWDs who have difficulties in receiving the invitation to test orthopedic equipment in Ho Chi Minh City, of which 30 were provided with prostheses and 70 received orthopedic splints.

DRD hopes that in the coming year, MoveAbility will regularly support DRD in communication activities on programme to appeal more PWDs.
